what does the IA, IIA.....VIIB, VIII mean on the periodic table?
what do they mean?
also, beta decay means atomic number is raised by one. so when iodine 131 goes through beta decay, it should now be xenon 132 right? or is it still Xenon 131?

It's the names of the groups the elements are in:
IA= Alkali Metals
IIA= The Alkaline Earth Metals
IIIa : Transition Metal Elements
IVa : Transition Metal Elements ETC....
