Most certainly... take a look at this map of hurricane tracks from 1851 to 2004:

    http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gifs/allstorms.gif

I don't know where Jessup, GA is, but most of Georgia looks covered at one time or another.

If you want to look a maps that are a bit less cluttered, then go here:

    http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/pastall.shtml#tracks_all

and scroll down to "Past Tracks Seasonal Maps"

pick a year from the Atlantic Basin drop down box and click the "Go" button.

You will get a map showing all the storms for that season.

You may have to look at a lot of maps to find one that comes close.

Keep in mind that the tracks only show the location of the eye of the storm. The effects of any hurricane can be felt hundreds of miles away with flooding and high winds. Even if no track goes close to Jessup, that does not mean there was no effect.

    Probably.

However, the state of Georgia rarely every experiences major hurricanes, in fact they haven't been impacted by a major hurricane in over a century!!!!!
