    Sperm: 23

    Egg: 23

    Daughter cell from mitosis: 46

Daughter cell from meiosis II: 23

Eggs and sperm are haploid, so have one set of chromosomes.

Daughter cells from mitosis are diploid, so one set from mother and one from father: 23+23=46.

At the end of meiosis II we have the production of gametes ( e.g. sperm and egg cells).
