A man named Ethan, is he Jewish?

He is 30yrs old. Named Ethan.. does that make him jewish? The name Ethan now is secular but what about 30yrs ago?

Update:

to clarify:

A man is born with another name... he changes it in his 20s to Ethan.. He meets new people and girls, and he wonders if these girls think he is jewish because of his name. He is in his 30s.. and wants to know if people assume a 30yr old male named Ethan would be jewish or not. He is wondering if girls think he is jewish coz of his name and age. Nowadays many people use this name, but he isnt 20 or 15yrs old he is 30yrs old. would the gals he meet assume he's a jew because of his name?

    Seriously?!?!

The name Michael is Hebrew. Do you assume every Michael is Jewish.

Besides, Ethan is the anglicanized version of the Hebrew name Eitan and not the actual Hebrew version so....you would be more likely to find a person named Eitan being Jewish than a person named Ethan.

    For instance:

Ethan Allen-Not Jewish (from the revolutionary war...not the furniture company)

    Ethan Hawk-Not Jewish

    Ethan Peck-Not Jewish

    Ethan Phillips-Not Jewish

    Ethan Suplee-Not Jewish

    Ethan Erickson-Not Jewish

    Ethan Embry-Not Jewish

    Ethan Coen-Jewish

Also, the name was the 7th most popular boys name in 2012 so...no. Not Jewish. Besides, I know a guy named Seamus McWhorter who IS Jewish and met another guy named David Cohen...who was NOT Jewish. A name does not equate to belief.

How the hell should WE know?

Ethan, yes, is a Biblical name. So is Michael, Sam, Elizabeth, Matthew, Jude, Evan, Jacob, Isaac, Aaron, Levi, Abraham, Ruben, Jack, etc., etc,

    Etc.

NOW!? Those names have ALWAYS been names that anyone might use.

    Why don't you ASK him!?
