How do I get in contact with a Japanese literary agent?

For the publishing of a Japan-based fact-fiction novel I need to get in contact with a Japanese literary agent. How do I do that? I have sent a e-mail message to some of them with the inquiry to consider my novel to become represented by them. Not one answer. But I don't give up 5 years of work. I guess they do not do business in English or they expect the whole manuscript first.

Does anyone know?

i'll list the top 10 publishers in Japan as of 2007 according to wiki.

Recruit

Benesse

Kadokawa

Shogakukan

Kodansha

Shueisha

Pia

Gakushu Kenkyusha

BP Nikkep BP

Zenrin

as far as i know, no. 3 through 6 are well known for novels(i.e. many magazines by Recruit etc).

sadly publishing business overall is shrinking in Japan as well that my friends in the business are definitely feeling it. hope your "baby" will survive it :)
