Suppose a resistor of 10 ohms, a capacitor of 820 pF, and a coil of 10 microHenry are in parallel.

The frequency is 1MHz. What is the complex impedance?

    1/Z=1/R+1/jXL-j/XC where Xl=2 pi f L and XC=1/2 pi f C. Just plug in the numbers and solve for Z. The complex math isn't hard, but it does take a little more work.
