All gun control debates of the 70s centered on handguns, and Saturday night specials. They couldnt have...?
...imagined such a large percent of the public would ever even consider owning semi-automatic assault rifles.
Has the terrain changed so much that we have to admit an entire new debate is at hand? One about large numbers of the public wanting military style weapons, with no purpose or application, for reasons of their mental illness and paranoia, rather than just general gun rights and public safety?
A-Rod, here's the definition of an assault rifle, from the 1994 assault weapons ban.

Baloney. Back in the 70s, a large percent of the population owned semi automatic rifles as well. The gun control advocates back in the 70s were always assuring the public that they werent coming after our rifles, semi automatic or not. Well, here we are. And they have broken their promise.
"(b) DEFINITION OF SEMIAUTOMATIC ASSAULT WEAPON"
This bill was authored by ignoramous anti-gun people who knew little to nothing about guns.
There is NO SUCH THING as a "semiautomatic assault weapon". An assault weapon is by definition a fully automatic firearm (which can shoot semi too, with the use of a selector switch). The rest of the items within the list does NOT define what an assault weapon is either.

What the uneducated liberals can't understand is that the terms Handgun, and Saturday night specials were coined by the liberal gun control bigot only to make these firearms sound evil. You see sidearm, pistol, or revolver did make them sound evil so the liberal gun control bigots had to come up with a term to try and make them sound evil. The same with inexpensive firearms that poorer people could own for protection, the liberal gun control bigots named them Saturday night specials to make them sound like evil things. That way the uneducated liberals would go along with them to ban these firearms. You see the liberals are not a very intelligent lot, with a sheep mentality and are easily lead by these liberal gun control bigots.

Joe, if Obama and the Dems wanted to ban roller skates.. you'd be here preaching for it.
Your head is shoved so far up Obama's @ss, if he sits down you'll break your neck.
What is "military style" Joe? It's COSMETIC only. Nothing more. There is virtually zero practical difference between an AR-15 and a .22 caliber varmint rifle.
Paranoid? Gun Owners? lol.> We are not the ones trying to BAN things that scare us ! You anti-gun nuts are the paranoid ones.Source(s): LMAO "B) a semiautomatic rifle that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least 2 of-- `(i) a folding or telescoping stock; `(ii) a pistol grip COSMETIC accessories to a SEMI-AUTO rifle.

The reason socialists want to disarm the public is to eliminate resistance to the kind of all powerful central authority they want to set up.
These are the same people who pass laws banning smoking in your own backyard or buying large size soft drinks.
Do you really think they care about your rights?

I'm going to go with "shall not be infringed" since we know perfectly well that the ultimate intention is a complete and total firearms ban.
Peddle your bullshit to someone else, you're wasting your time.

hey moron,a semi automatic is not an assault weapon, they are used for defense, and hunting or target shooting. you are the paranoid one,you are scared of an object. that is a definition they used,it isn't a definition now, that law expired. besides why do you bring up a law that failed to make us safer

Since rifles of any type are involved in gun homicides or only 1.5% of all murders then it is a totally phony argument.
