I go with Whispering Smith.
Many think Fenton Robinson wrote "Texas Flood" because he was associated with the song, but he came to it by being a guitarist on the composer's version. Larry Davis of Little Rock, a fine blues singer/player, wrote "Texas Flood" in the 1950s.

Lynwood Slim- I prefer his harp playing and he's not too bad of a vocalist either. He played harp and added vocals on guitarist Dave Specter's "Left Turn On Blue" CD

The Whisperer for me. Bit more edge to his playing.
