After a lot of reflection and soul searching, I'll put down my thoughts about "mistakes."
Mistakes can be classified into the following type:
1. Mistakes made from ignorance
2. Mistakes made from arrogance
3. Mistakes made from being conned by professional conmen in religion, science, medicine, politics, investment, and business.
4. Mistakes as learning steps to full mastery of life
Mistakes that are made from ignorance is very wasteful. My advice to prevent this type of mistakes is to always make your independent research and thinking before spending time, money or effort. You must look before you leap. Don't be lazy and careless. Such mistakes can be reduced by being prepared, diligent and observant.
Some mistakes are made because we are too proud to ask others for help. By being humble and giving credit when credit is due, we save a lot of time and money. Just asking for direction the minute we get lost in a new place or building will save us a lot of time. don't you agree? Pretending to be cool and knowledgeable to hid our ignorance is sheer stupidity.
There are also mistakes that we make that is not our fault. These are mistakes made from being conned by professional conmen in religion, science, medicine, politics, investment, and business. These conmen are highly skilled professional in their fields. They know the weaknesses of human beings and possess great skills in exploiting our need for evidence, safety and being part of the herd. To prevent that kind of mistakes, we have to avoid joining any club, religion, multi-level marketing, or any other organization that do not encourage you to make up your own mind. They want to quietly make decisions on your behave. Run away from these conmen.
The best mistakes to make are mistakes that serves as learning steps to full mastery of life. This requires us to acquire some body of knowledge and marketable skill in the form of a professional qualification, for example, being trained as a lawyer, accountant, craftsman, electrician, doctor and so on. As a fresh graduate, we will make mistakes. But we grow more experienced and skillful as we learn from our mistakes.
