Can a fallen angel defeat a good angel? Also, what of Daniel 10 where a bad angel detained a good one?

In Daniel 10 God sends an angel to Daniel but he is blocked by a fallen angel and cant reach Daniel for 21 days. Later Michael comes to his rescue.

How is it that a fallen angel can defeat a loyal one?

Many Christians believe there is a spiritual warfare going on and that earth is the battle ground. Others, prefer to believe that God is in complete control of everything and that nothing happens unless God chooses to have it done.

The advantage of the "God is totally sovereign" theology is a sense of security. The disadvantage is that they have to explain away evil. Others see a battle between good and evil (God and angels vs Satan and demons).

Daniel 10:13 says that the angel was detained by a demon in Persia. He was only detained, but the angel had to wait for Michael to free him.

This is a great question! It is not that a fallen angel defeated a good one. This points to the fact that Satan and his angels DO have power. They can fight back! Michael was needed to assist this one. Scripture speaks about a war taking place in heaven:

(Revelation 12:9) So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.

Now how long that war took, we do not know. But what we do know is that Satan will not and cannot prevail over Jehovah's power!

In Daniel 10............the Angel appears to Daniel.

What you refer to, takes place in other chapters.

I know of which I speak.
