Is Arkansas considered to be a "southern" state?

I think of Arkansas as solidly a southern state, I think of Missouri as being somewhere in between, both in style and geography, Iowa, I think of as solidly a northern state, and then just north of Iowa you of course have the greatest state in the Union.Source(s): kidding about the last part (kind of )

Yes, it is considered a southern state. The United States Census Bureau classifies Arkansas as a Southern state, as well as sub-categorized among the four West South Central states, along with Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
