Lois actually was my great-grandmother's name and then my aunt's name, so I'm partial to it! I think it's really pretty. I love girls' names that end in the 's' sound. I know lots of people think it's 'old-ladyish', but in my opinion it's due for a comeback. :)

I'm not a fan. It just sounds quite frumpy to me. Plus, when I was little, I used to read the Sweet Valley Twins books, and the first time I came across the character Lois, I thought it was a one-syllable name that sounded like LOYSS. I'm pretty sure most people do actually know how to pronounce it, so that's not really a bit deal, but it does still sound very frumpy.
