How does america become energy independent?

For united states of america to grow to be potential autonomous in two decades it would take considerable advancements. united states of america is a lot from autonomous, and has hardly adequate oil to final. whether we've been allowed to drill all the oil in united states of america it would take properly over two decades for the guidelines to bypass to allow that to ensue. If we've been by some ability waiting to cut back out emissions and rely heavily on image voltaic and wind potential interior the subsequent two decades it would desire to be achieveable. whether, whether it would desire to be achieveable it would be virtually thoroughly no longer likely. With the democracy it would be almost impossible to bypass all the regulations and regulations to allow that to ensue interior of two decades.

1) in the short term we can insist that our oil that belongs to we the people is sold here in the USA for our use....
2) we need to have a long term 21st century strategy...having more and more requirements that vehicles get better fuel efficieny is one way.... for instance you can do it incrementally, but we can have a goal for instance that by 2020 at least half of our passenger cars on the road must be getting at least 35 miles to the gallon or better somehow and someway....

Begin using all available domestic energy sources. Sun, geothermal, tidal, wind, etc. We were moving quickly in that direction with The Solar Energy Research Institute under Jimmy Carter. Ronnie Reagan shut it down.
