1.The needs (of such kids) for something to do prompted physical education instructor Chen Cheng-bo to found the KSES Little League baseball team in 2002.

The needs for something to do ── 「必需有些事情來做」。

這裡用 for something to do,就是指「有找些事情來做」 的需求。

2.The ability (of the KSES team) to go from start-up to world fame in just 10 years is truly a remarkable achievement

    [1.to go是指什麼意思???

    把 of the KSES team 淡掉,明顯看出主詞是 The ability to go from .... to.....,所以 to go from .... to .....

[2.fame 等於 the state of being famous嗎???]

老式字典很喜歡用 the state of .... 所以你看到這個 the state of ....

[3.it’s all about pure love of the sport, 請問t’s all about 是什麼意思???]

英語慣用語 be all about ....

He is all about his job now.

it's all about pure love of the sport

..... unable to juggle schedules to be with their children after school

= ..... unable to juggle schedules IN ORDER TO be with their children....

所以 to be with 意思上的主詞不是 schedule,不是當 schedule 的補語。

to be with their children 意思上的主詞是 parents。 家長「為了課後陪小孩」而 juggle schedules,所以這個 to be with....

I used a broom to sweep the floor.

to sweep the floor 這是 「use 某東西 to 如何」的句型,就是你的第二句 used (certain learning tricks) to (help them memorize things) 的句型。所以 to help....

A broom to sweep the floor is different from the broom a witch uses.

You can always find a gift to express exactly what you want to say

    This is where....

    This is an event.

In the event mental athletes ......

This is an event in which mental athletes.........

This is an event where mental athletes .........

或者剛脆把 an event 省了,畢竟 an event 就是 this 嘛:

This is where mental athletes .....

你如果想用 an event that, 那沒了 in,它就不是副詞了喔。

that 是關係代名詞,可以取代 which, 那 an event that = an event which, 可是我們知道本來的句意是 in the event 如何如何,用 which 代替 an event 變成 in which,現在用只用 that,那 in 就丟掉了。

She established her fame as an actress.

    having a hard time (in) doing something。

I have a problem (in) watching videos.

There's great fun (in) watching plants grow.

I have a big problem to solve.

I have a big problem trying to solve the equation.

The police are trying to find out who was involved in the break-in.

Who was involved in the break-in?

    was involved 的主詞就是 who。

She established her fame as an actress.

    as an actress是修飾established而非fame對吧???

She established her fame as an actress

    所以as an actress 是介係詞當副詞修飾 established
