WHY did the popular band ABBA break up?!?
Did they break up because of the divorces they had with each other?

Not directly. In fact Abba did some of their best work after the splits. Just after Bjorn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Faltskog divorced in 1980, they released The Winner Takes it All with Agnetha doing the solo. Then after Benny Andersson and Frida Lyngstad divorced in 1981, they released When All is Said and Done, with Frida's solo. They were together another year after that, recording tracks for a ninth album that was never finished, including The Day Before You Came, which some believe is their best. Their last public performance was just before Christmas 1982 on British TV, and they insisted they were not breaking up. But Agnetha and Frida both went to do solo projects while Benny and Bjorn started what would prove to be a three-year collaboration with Sir Tim Rice on the stage musical Chess. The four of them only performed together three times after that, once on Swedish TV and twice at private parties.

One couple announced their divorce two months after the other couple got married, then the other couple divorced after two years of marriage. The men went on and did their own project together for a bit, while the women worked on solo projects. They drifted apart and the public lost interest.
