Which adobe photoshop to download?

I'm on here right now http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp... and I'm buying the adobe for my mac but I can't tell which one i should get. Do you have to download a main one and then buy extra features or can I get the most recently updated one?

Update:

Oh wait I'm also a beginner, can you tell me which one is the basic one?

Your link is for upgrades, if you don't have a previous version of photoshop, you need to buy the full product. Updates won't do anything without the application.

If you want Photoshop and you are a beginner, I recommend Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 - it's $119 - it's really not fair to call it the basic version, but it is the consumer version and is designed for ordinary people like you.

The other versions are for professional image editors/retouchers/graphic designers - Photoshop CS6 is $699 (for standard) and $999 (for extended).

To find the software, start at the main page, follow the links http://www.adobe.com - Adobe has trial versions of all it's software which lasts 30 days, then you pay.

You stated you are a beginner, so, the last thing you need to do is spend $ 700 on an App that you don't even know how to use, yet.

Best Advice: BUY Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 for about $99, and learn how to use it well.

Then, after you graduate you can afford to buy the $ 700 App, and maybe even make a living with it. Photoshop Elements will train you how to use Photoshop CS6 and beyond.

What you want is Photoshop CS6 which I don't see. You buy first, THEN download. Go to this page:

    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop.html

Then on the right side of the screen, click "Buy", then click the appropriate dropdown for Mac. You can add it to your cart from there.

Looking for a photo/image editing software for a beginner, try Gimp - a free user friendly software alternative to Photoshop with some if not all the same tools and features!! Once you get the hang of what you need, you may decide to buy either basic version or pro version of Photoshop to match your needs!!

    Source(s): GIMP 2.8

    Those are updates. Not photoshop.

What you need to do is go here

    http://www.adobe.com/downloads/?promoid=JZEFS

Go to Photoshop. You will see a "Try" option.

    Download that.
