Your relative takes your rental U haul out of state?

    if you did not give them the keys.... you report it stolen... and you help prosecute the family member who did this

    if you did give them the keys, you do not report it stolen, you fail to follow through on prosecution

    then you are 100% responsible... for the mileage, the additional cost of the days until it is returned, and/or the entire cost of the u-haul if it is not properly returned.. as well as the cost to repair any damage while under your contract

    when you rented the u-haul, you took the responsibility to protect the vehicle and access to the vehicle... if you did not properly protect the keys... or even allowed someone who is not on the rental contract to take it.... then this is your problem to deal with
