Do you have to be smart to be a Sonar Technician, Submarine (STS)?

Do I have to go to college to be in a submarine?

    STS is not the hardest rate to get into.

    NUC ET/MM, Forward ET/MT/FT are generally the hardest to get into in the context of IQ scores. [or in this case overall ASVAB score]

    ASVAB scores for STS usually run about the same as RM/QM.

    You do not need a college degree to get onto subs. However once you become a crewmember you will be strongly encouraged to begin working on college. It is expected that all submariners should taking courses every month.

    AR+MK+EI+GS-222 OR VE+AR+MK+MC=222
