First, we know that Iraq and 9/11 were not related. It seems that many others do not understand that though. Iraq was about a few other things. Namely, Hussien not abiding by the rules imposed on him and his country after the U.S. saved Kuwait from the Iraqi attack. (no fly zones, quit killing your own people, disarm, open your facilities to U.N. inspectors)
Which leads to the answer of the question. It is not that we like war, but that we dislike tyrants that kill others, like the Kuwaities or Kurds. We see it more like defending them and defending ourselves.

England and France - just to pick 2 European countries, have been involved together as enemies or allies in about 40 wars since 1066, totaling about 300 years. That's longer than the USA has existed.
Which other countries have been involved in a single war that last for over 100 years.
Oh - by the war, European countries have also been involved in Iraq 1 & 2, Afghanistan & Libya.

We are just trying to play catch up with the rest of the world. Don't forget you Europeans are so much older than America and have been making war with each other for centuries before we even came around. And wars like Iraq and Vietnam still pale in comparison to the things like the Crusades and the Inquisition.

You should look at European history and ask who loves war.
