I have a 5000 watt boss phantom amp 1800 rms is this too much for 4 kennwood 1200 watt 400 rms subs?

    Nah, you should be fine. Make sure to set the gain just slightly lower than you would if you had subs that could handle that kind of wattage. Both are cheap brands and I doubt that the Boss acutally puts out that kind of wattage. For example I have a Planet Audio 3000 Watt mono Class D amp that puts out 1500RMS at 2 ohms or so they claim but with the fuses on the side of the amp, the most that it could physically put out is around 600RMS.

    Trust me your fine. Just enjoy the bass!

    too much? no, its not too much. boss audio lies about its amplifiers power ratings.
