Why is Jesus called Gods Son?

Why Is Jesus Called God’s Son?

The Bible’s answer

God does not have a literal wife with whom he fathered children. But he is the Creator of all life. (Revelation 4:11) Therefore, the first human that God created, Adam, is called a “son of God.” (Luke 3:38) Similarly, the Bible teaches that Jesus was created by God. So Jesus is also called a “Son of God.”—John 1:49.

God created Jesus before he created Adam. Regarding Jesus, the apostle Paul wrote: “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.” (Colossians 1:15) Jesus’ life began long before he was born in a stable in Bethlehem. In fact, the Bible says that his “origin is from early times, from the days of time indefinite.” (Micah 5:2) As God’s firstborn Son, Jesus was a spirit creature in heaven before he was born as a human on earth. Jesus himself said: “I have come down from heaven.”—John 6:38; 8:23.

Did you know this fact that Jesus existed before coming on earth?

    Thank you for question.

Jesus is rightly called Son of God because Jehovah created Him. He is God's 'only begotten' Son. (John 3:16)

The Bible also says this, when speaking of Jesus.......

(Revelation 3:14) “And to the angel of the congregation in La·o·di·ce′a write: These are the things that the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God,"

Yes, He is the beginning of the Creation by God.......the first thing Jehovah created.

sturdy question. i become in basic terms studying that formerly on the instantaneous. he's the Son of God. i have not discovered everywhere that announces he's God although so i does no longer desire to actual sink into that theory that Jews do not desire Jesus reason they have Elohim already. Jews desire Jesus (Yeshua Messiah) because.......he's the fellow who fulfilled each and each of the prophecies contained in the Tanakh! he's the mediator of the hot covenant (Jer. 31) examine Isaiah fifty 3 and also you'll locate Yeshua is the Lamb of G-d that takes away the sin of the international that John the Baptist proclaimed. yet he become pierced for our transgressions, he become beaten for our iniquities; the punishment that delivered us peace become on him, and by utilising his wounds we are healed. all of us, like sheep, have lengthy gone off beam, each and each human beings has became to our personal way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity human beings all.

The point is that Jesus was not created, but begotten.

GOD was known by the Hebrews as being Spirit.

By begetting Jesus through Mary, he became Father.

That made Mary the Mother of GOD, & Jesus the Son.

This is still the one divinity, now revealed in 3 persons.

After death, the soul of Jesus returned to the Father.

Then he is recognized as the Christ or Messiah.

Jesus is "the son" (THE SUN) the "light of the world" the "anointed" the "giver of life" he is pictured with a crown of thorns (the sun) and an image behind his head rising (also the sun) which at the end of the year dies, is at it's lowest point for three days and then "rises again"....Jesus is a depiction of the SUN... not an actual person, much like the ancient egyptiants, the persians, etc etc etc they worshipped THE SUN...and personified it which turned into "the son" believers in christ know today....Do a little research on the subject, I'm sure you'll be stunned to know the truth behind it all...

I don't understand why anybody would believe anything from the Bible. It's just an ancient book of myths that was written by primitive men who believed that the Earth was the fixed center of the universe, and it was flat and covered by a large solid dome called the firmament. The Bible endorses genocide, slavery, rape, incest, human and animal sacrifice (i.e. Jesus and ritual sacrifice of animals), and many other evils.

The evidence shows that Jesus is just a mythical character and never existed.

For Jesus-believers, here's the long answer (with evidence), which is needed to cover all bases:

All reliable evidence points to Jesus Christ being just a myth. There is no reliable evidence that Jesus even existed, and significant evidence that he didn't. The evidence is in the Bible, the other religions of the time, and the lack of writings about Jesus by historians of the time.

The story of Jesus can be shown to be just a myth created to fulfill prophesy, cobbled together out of stories from the Old Testament and previous gods and myths -- created in the 40's and 50's by Paul of Tarsus (who exhibited symptoms of epilepsy and had delusions of Christ talking to him), the other apostles, the unknown authors of the gospels in the 70's or later, and many other people. The reliable evidence for this is overwhelming.

Paul and the other epistle writers don't know any biographical details of Jesus' life, or even the time of his earthly existence. They don't refer to Bethlehem, Nazareth, Galilee, Calvary or Golgotha — or any pilgrimages to what should have been holy sites of Jesus' life. They also don't mention any miracles that Jesus was supposed to have worked, his virgin birth, his trial, the empty tomb, or his moral teachings. To them Jesus was largely a sky-god, who existed in the spiritual past.

If Jesus had actually existed, Paul would have written about his life, disciples, and teachings. Paul did not write about any of this. Note that to Paul, Peter was another (competing) epistle writer. Paul referred to James as the Lord's brother, not Jesus' brother. This is much like people of a religion who refer to each other as brothers. Paul wrote (in Romans 16:25-26, Galatians 1:11,12) that he knew Jesus through revelation, which is another term for fantasy and delusions. We can also tell that people were accusing Paul of lying, because he attempted to defend himself in Romans 3:5-8.

If Jesus had actually existed, the gospels would have been written in first person format. Instead, they were written in third person fiction format like a Harry Potter story, with Matthew and Luke extensively plagiarizing from Mark. The gospels don't even claim to be eyewitness accounts, and were written in Greek - which the disciples would not have known. In fact, there are no claimed eyewitness or contemporary accounts of Jesus - anywhere. All we have are hearsay witnesses.

If the Jesus story were true, his trial would have been legal. Instead, the purported trial was illegitimate under both Roman and Jewish law. The story of the trial is just a re-telling of the Jewish ritual of scapegoating, where one goat is set free (i.e. Barabbas, which means "son of the father") and one goat is sacrificed (i.e. Jesus). In addition, many scholars have pointed out that the entire crucifixion scene is created out of material extracted from the Psalms.

If Jesus had actually existed, at least one of the approximately 30 local historians of the first century would have written about him. No historian of the first century (including Josephus and Philo of Alexandria) wrote about him or his disciples.

    Therefore Jesus didn't exist.

The Jesus story also shows extensive similarities to other myths of the time (especially Horus, Mithra, Osiris, and Dionysus). For instance, baptism into the death and resurrection of Osiris washed away sins so the soul could obtain the best place in heaven. Some early Christians attributed these similarities to Satan who went back in time and created the religions that "copied" Christianity.

There were also over a dozen other deities and saviors who were resurrected (often after violent deaths). Christianity just told the story the best, and managed to get control of the government under Constantine.

For much more evidence, see the links. There are also several good books on this, including:

"Nailed: Ten Christian Myths that Show Jesus Never Existed At All"

    by David Fitzgerald

"The Jesus Puzzle" by Earl Doherty

"Not the Impossible Faith" by Richard Carrier

And if anybody still thinks that Jesus actually existed, please send the information on the reliable evidence supporting this position (not just somebody's opinion).

Jesus is not only called "God's son", but also "God's one and only son".

Jesus is called this because God fathered the human form of Jesus on Mary, and Jesus came down from Heaven to be born as that human. Jesus is the only human to have ever lived to have God not merely as a creator of his human body, but also as a ***biological*** father of his human body.

So: Jesus is "God's son" in a much more important way than is Adam or any other human who has ever lived. In the Bible, Paul teaches that we are sons of God by adoption - but not Jesus. He is the natural or biological son of God, not merely a son by adoption.

The Bible teaches that Jesus created **all** things (immediately after the verse you quote, which does not by the words themselves teach that Jesus was created, though you would like to interpret it in that way)

that he is the beginning of creation itself (that is: that which began creation):

I am confused as to why you make the claim that something written in a book of fantasy is "a fact".

Because he had a Jewish Godfather.
