Did the Philippines Campaign of 1942 generate any American aces?

I'm curious. I know that the Philippines Campaign of 1942 was a disaster for the US, however I've read bits here and there that some Japanese planes were shot down by the Army Air Force. So I'm wondering, did any American fliers become aces, ie, pilots who shot down 5 or more enemy aircraft? If so who were they and what happened to them? Thanks!!

Not then. Our "campaign" in 1942 consisted of Gen. Wainwright surrendering Corregidor to the Japanese after a valiant hold out there and in the Bataan Peninsula.
