Wisteria Floribunda "Royal Purple". (Black Dragon)

    Growth Habit: vigorous vine

    USDA Zone: 5-9

    Exposure: filtered to full sun

    Flower Color: strong purple

    Flower Type: 10-16 inch racemes

Leaf Color: dark green, bronze new growth

    Leaf Description: pinnate

Growing Conditions: humus-rich, moist, well-drained soil

Comments: Flowers at young age, sweetly scented. Dependable. Is recognized as darkest purple of all single-flowering wisterias. Sometimes incorrectly sold as 'Black Dragon'. The larger-sized plants are in 6 gallon pots and very robust.

Bougainvillea- This vine has purple flowers and does very well in Southern California. The hotter the better.
