Homework Help please!!!?
Okay, I need help on homework. Here it is :
The number of girls at Sky High School is 60 greater than the number of boys. If there are 1250 students all together, how many girls are there? I don't understand how to figure this out. Yeah, I know, it's probably REALLY easy..but I don't get it.
So Arnold, the answer would be just 655? I think that makes sense.

First subtract the difference of Girls-boys=60
Then divide by 2 (2 groups of boys and girls)
Therefore there are 595 boys in the school.
and 595+60=655 girls in the school.
To check your work 595 +655=1250Source(s): My brain.

GIRLS = X + 60
Guys = X
X + 60 + X = 1250
2X = 1190
GIRLS = X + 60 = 595 + 60.

x + (x+60) = 1250
so x + x = 1250 -60 (1190)
1190 / 2 = 595
x = 595 boys
and x + 60 = 655 girlsSource(s): yay i did math, don't expect it again
