Charles Darwin lived in Victorian England.

Victorian England's society is aptly described several times over by Charles Dickens in his novels.

It was during the Industrial Revolution and Darwin had a relationship with the Wedgwood family who manufacture pottery.

Two Prime Ministers during this era are: Disraeli and Gladstone.

More in the sources, I cite - some have more information particularly about Charles Darwin than do others.

It was a time when people still believed that humanity and the apes didn't share a common ancestry. The place was called "The Britain", an island off the coast of Europe.
