It still does snow in Iowa. You guys just haven't been lucky to get any yet this year.

Here is the forecast dissucssion for Central Iowa by the NWS-.Des Moines, IA

    "AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DES MOINES IA

    1130 PM CST SUN DEC 9 2012

    .LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...

THE FORECAST CONCERN FOR MONDAY WILL REVOLVE AROUND TEMPS AND CLOUD

COVER. STRONG COLD ADVECTION WILL OCCUR THROUGH MUCH OF MONDAY AND

THE STRATUS SHIELD DEPICTED ON SATELLITE WILL BE SLOW TO EXIT THOUGH

IT SHOULD DO SO THROUGH MID TO LATE MORNING. A RIDGE OF HIGH

PRESSURE AT THE SURFACE WILL NOSE INTO THE CWA AND PROGRESS EAST

DURING THE DAY AND THIS SHOULD MEAN DIMINISHING WINDS THROUGHOUT THE

AFTERNOON WITH AN EVENTUAL SHIFT TO THE WEST THEN SOUTH BY EVENING

TIME. I GENERALLY WENT BELOW GUIDANCE FOR TEMPS ON MONDAY AS THE

MIXING THAT WILL OCCUR MOST OF THE DAY WILL KEEP TEMPERATURES QUITE

    COLD.

THE HIGH SHIFTS EAST MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY KEEPING CENTRAL IOWA

IN A ZONAL FLOW WHICH SHOULD MODERATE TEMPS FOR MUCH OF THE COMING

WORK WEEK. HIGHS SHOULD MOVE BACK INTO THE 30S FOR TUESDAY AND 40S

FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK. AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL SWEEP THE

REGION TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY BUT THERE IS LITTLE TO NO MOISTURE TO

WORK WITH SO I AM NOT EXPECTING ANYTHING IN THE WAY OF PRECIP.

HOWEVER THERE WILL BE SOME LIFT WHICH WILL LIKELY AID IN THE

DEVELOPMENT OF SOME MID AND HIGH LEVEL CLOUD COVER TUESDAY INTO

    WEDNESDAY.

ATTENTION THEN TURNS TO THE FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT TIME

FRAME AND THE MODELS ARE NO CLOSER TO A RESOLUTION. THE GFS CREATED

A RADICAL CHANGE THIS RUN BY SPLITTING THE SHORTWAVE INTO A NORTHERN

AND SOUTHERN STREAM. THUS THE WAVE ACROSS THE SOUTH NEVER DEEPENS

INTO A CLOSED LOW AND THE MEAN FLOW LEAVES IA IN A ZONAL FLOW

BETWEEN THE TWO WAVES. AT THE SURFACE THE GFS DEVELOPS A CANADIAN

HIGH NOSING INTO THE NORTHWEST PUSHING DRY AIR ACROSS CENTRAL IOWA.

IF THIS OCCURS WE WILL BE COOL AND DRY DURING THIS TIME. HOWEVER...

SINCE THIS IS SUCH A DRASTIC CHANGE FROM THE PAST COUPLE OF RUNS IT

WAS GENERALLY DISCARDED WITH PREJUDICE. THE EURO HAS BEEN

CONSISTENT BUT HAS ALSO TRENDED SLOWER THE LAST COUPLE OF RUNS.

THIS WOULD MAKE SENSE SINCE IT DEEPENS THE LOW ACROSS THE SOUTHWEST

U.S. HOWEVER IT STILL BRINGS THIS CLOSED LOW RIGHT ACROSS IOWA 00Z

SATURDAY THROUGH 00Z SUNDAY. IF THIS WERE TO VERIFY...MOST OF THIS

EVENT WOULD KEEP IOWA IN THE WARM SECTOR AND WITH DECENT INSTABILITY

STILL BEING DEPICTED...POSSIBLY EVEN SOME ISOLATED THUNDER ACROSS

THE SOUTH ON FRIDAY NIGHT WITH THE INITIAL SURGE OF MOISTURE. A

CHANGE OVER TO SNOW WOULD OCCUR ON SATURDAY IN THE DEF ZONE AS THE

LOW PULLS NORTHEAST BUT THIS WOULD MAINLY OCCUR ACROSS THE FAR NORTH.

AT THIS POINT I DID NOT STRAY FAR FROM THE GOING FORECAST GIVEN THE

MODEL INCONSISTENCIES AND NOT WANTING TO FLIP FLOP BACK AND FORTH

FOR WHAT WILL BE SEVERAL DAYS YET. I DID KNOCK POPS BACK ACROSS THE

NORTH FRIDAY NIGHT AS IT APPEARS NOW WITH THE SLOWER EURO THAT

LOCATIONS NORTH OF HIGHWAY 30 MAY NOT SEE PRECIP BEFORE 12Z.

DESPITE THE CHANCE POPS IN THE GRIDS...CONFIDENCE IS LOW ON THE

FORECAST FOR FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY. WE WILL CERTAINLY BE

WATCHING WHAT THE MODELS DO IN THE COMING DAYS AND WHETHER THE GFS

GIVES UP THIS SPLIT SYSTEM IDEA."

Here the next forecast for appreciable measurable snow for the Des Moines area according to accuweather is not in the forecast at this present time. Please be aware thought that forecasts can change at anytime so you will want to keep up to date with it.

i could say from adventure in employing by using the two that Milwaukee has greater of a social life than Urbandale. additionally, the factors relies upon on how the jet circulate drops at cases interior the winter. Milwaukee gets greater snow by way of it being close to the lake. Iowa even nonetheless has snow besides. yet another element have you ever checked Boston for application jobs as there are various businesses interior the area hiring, and living in New England does deliver numerous snow and less warm climate, even nonetheless the reward of nightlife, friendly human beings, and prosperous custom are unbeatable. i like it right here.
