what is the genotype of the man? what is the phenotype?

in humans the ability to taste ptc is due to the dominate gene T. the inability to taste is due to the recessive allele t. a man who is a taster bu who's father is not marries a woman who can taste ptc but whose mother could not. thanks in advance.

    The man's father's genotype is tt - because he is a non-taster.

Therefore the man (a taster) must be Tt

(the only thing he could have gotten from his father is t).

His wife's mother is tt (non-taster),

so the wife (a taster) must be Tt.

So both the man and his wife (both tasters) have genotype Tt.
