many nearby galaxies?

1. [1 pts] Many nearby galaxies

a. will become black holes

b. contain quasars

c. have radio lobes

d. were more active in the past

I have looked and looked for the answer, I believe it is d. that they were more active in the past. I just wanted reassurance if anyone knew if this was correct, and if it isn't please correct me!

Thanks!

It's poorly phrased question. Our nearest neighbor, not counting "satellite" galaxies like the Magellanic Clouds would be Andromeda. And it's 2.5 million light years away. Not exactly what I would call "nearby".
