Is it normal for speakers to produce a burning sound while adjusting its volume?

Whenever i adjust the volume of my computer speakers using that small turning wheel like thing i hear a burning sound. If i set the volume loud then the burning sound is also enough loud but if the sound is set to low the burning sound is also low.

Please note i get to hear the burning sound only while i adjust the volume once i remove my finger from that wheel there is no such burning sound. I get the perfectly normal music without any distortion.

Is there any risk of fire or is it normal?

You have a short in the wiring. Check ALL the wiring. If you can't find anything wrong, buy new speakers.
