is it possible for someone to remotely detect what television programs you watch. yes. in the UK you have to pay a receiver tax and the government occasionally track what you are watching, and if you don't have a paid license, you are subject to fine. the FCC has similar signal equipment in the USA, but since we don't have receiver taxes, they don't do this as a matter of course. since it can be done without entering your home, it does not require a search warrant. the government doesn't care what you watch, but your mother might.
