Is playing the electric guitar the same as playing a regular one?

I just wanted to know,

because I wanna buy both...

    well actually many people learn the acoustic guitar first because it is supposed to be harder to play than the electric guitar

    Yes exactly the same, but an electric guitar will have a lower "action" (string height) and will typically be easier to play because it will have much lighter strings so they can be "bent" when playing solos, etc. Techniques are a little different between electric and acoustic playing, but if you play one, you can play the other.

    An electric guitar is "a regular one", so is an acoustic.

    Chord wise, yes it is the same. But usually an amplifier is used for electric, and there are some settings that are different from the acoustic.
