Does doing pushups everyday help gain muscle? I need tips on what i should do to get stronger.?

-im 5'6 135lb

-im trying to gain weight and be strong for football. i am VERY SKINNY :'(

-i cant do nothing in my schools weight room'

-i tried bench press but i can only do 4 sets of light weights. do those 5$ protein bars and the 50$ protein powder help

-My family is really poor we have to use food stamps and the only thing we eat is rice with some kind of meat which i don't think helps me gain weight.

-I feel like i want to kill myself

    sorry to hear about your poverty situation brah

    the reason you arent gaining your bench press

    in the weight room is because you arent eatin

    enough, but like you said, its because your

    family is poor

    a cheap think that will help you gain weight is

    milk, drink as much as your family can afford

    another cheap food for protein is tuna, 90cents

    per can

    pushups alone will help you gain a little muscle in

    your chest and triceps, but without proper nutrition

    your muscle gains wont be maximized

    Yeah man try eating more and doing push ups I did alotof push ups and I got some muscle and I don't even workout my veins pop out to

    eat chicken breast and asparagus for 1 meal....oatmeal and eggwhites....fish and salad for another....and some healthy snacks (green apples) in between ps...kill yourself? YOUR A WIMP!!! are you serious???? i have been through HELL all my life and you want to kill yourself for what? dont even talk like that!

    yes! I'd do it everyday about 1000 pushups a day. trust me!
