    Differentiate the function to get...

    f'(x) = (2x + 7)/(x² + 7x + 14)

    So?

    0 = 2x + 7

    x = -7/2

    Therefore...

    f(-4) ≈ 0.693

    f(1) ≈ 3.09 [max]

    f(-7/2) ≈ 0.560 [min]
