Although "Union" plumbers can make good money they dont have the stability of the railroad. Construction in this country is becoming more and more unstable. The railroad offers skilled training engineers, locamotive electricians, locamotive mechanics, signal technicians. Train crews today can make over a 100K a year if you work for BNSF or Union Pacific. Over your lifetime you will definetly earn more money along with a decnet pension. No time layed off or working out of town for months, etc...
