Lymphocytes can be broadly divided into B cells and T cell. Very very briefly, B cells are involved in the production of antibodies to defend the bosy against infection, and to maintain immunologic memory for future infection. T cell have various functions in cell mediated immunity, as coordinating cells and as killer cells, to destroy foreign cells and our own cells that have been marked for destruction.
