Driving? Take the 101 to the 10 for mostly freeway driving. Or you can take the 134 and get off in Pasadena (where the 210 ends going south) and drive through the streets south to Monterey Park, check Google Maps for exact directions.

If you're taking public transportation, catch the Universal Shuttle to the Universal City Station, take the Metro Red Line subway to downtown LA, where you get off depends on which bus goes to near where you're going in Monterey Park, but you can take the 770 from by Union Station (where you'd get off the subway), or the 70 from near the Civic Center Station (where you'd get off the subway). Use Google Maps to get the exact route and directions, click on the little bus icon and fill out the info for time and date, etc.
