Why some Christians insist that the Earth is only 6000 years old while?

There are rocks that have been tested with carbon dating that date back millions of years.

    Because they choose to believe what a little piece of scripture (whom they have no idea who wrote in the first place) tells them so.

    Because they call their ignorance "faith" and choose to blindly accept whatever they don't understand as biblical fact instead of searching to gain answers to their questions.

    When you have room temperature IQ, believing in fairy tales is far easier than dealing with science, half life, molecular degeneration, C-14, Phosphorus-argon dating, etc.

    Ever met a solid, supernaturalist, fundamentalist Christian? Education and logic are not their strong points.

    And besides, they get comfort from believing someone is watching over them. So they swallow the whole myth...even the 6000 year old earth thing.

    The devil planted those and made us discover carbon dating to fool us. Duh.

    Why do scientist continue to study the universe when they say the whole thing is an illusion?
