Never heard opf a Mikwaukee, but have owned a Makita for many years, with very little or faults, other than after 8 years the charger crapped out & found it was cheaper log term to buy something else.
Bought a DeWalt & did lots of work with it! Replaced one battery along with the motor & then finally the original battery crapped out & the last straw was the charger. So chucked everything in the bin & went & bought a cheapy Black & Decker & if that craps out it will also go to the bin.
My tools get a hard life, drilling stainless steel, masonary & steel & my theory is - If I get a year or so out of a cheap drill, then it owes me nothing & I replace it with another cheap drill.
One can spend hundreds of dollars on a nice fancy drill, that does the same as a cheap one, So rather than waste hundreds of dollars on an expensive one, the money I save I can buy something else I may need.
Common sense & rational thinking!
