Is it really hard to get into the University of Michigan?

What does your GPA have to be and ACT score? What other things are a must to get accepted? I'm just wondering if I have a shot at going there?

The University of Michigan is very difficult to get into. The acceptance rate last year was only 35%, and it is expected to decrease to the low 30's this year. The average unweighted high school GPA for an enrolled student at Michigan is a 3.83 and the average ACT is 31 (the middle 50 percent fall in the range of 29-33). Most admitted students have taken multiple AP and honors classes while receiving very good grades in those classes. The majority of accepted students are also involved in multiple extracurricular activities, and most have one or more leadership roles.

Go to the school's web site, look at the admissions section, and look at the statistics for the current freshman class. You should find admissions criteria, plus the grade point, class rank, and test score ranges and averages for current freshmen. If your numbers are within the ranges, you have a decent chance at admission -- but no guarantee, of course.
