How does a 6000 whale baby fit through another whales vagina?

We were doing a math problem in class and it says whales are normally 6000 pounds at birth . So I'm just wondering, how does that fit through a whales vagina? That's HUGE, how does it fit?

Fortunately for the female whale, her vagina is quite muscular and very elastic. It can stretch and open to accommodate the head (biggest part) of the baby whale during the birth process. Following the birth, the vagina begins to return to its original size, though this may take a few weeks.

When mom is 160 tons, a 3 ton baby is not all that big. That would be equivalent to a 150 pound woman giving birth to a baby of less than 3 pounds.
