am i doing enough to lose weight?

Hello, im really over weight and im trying to get healthy im taking in around 2000 calories a day, and exercising every day and i want to know is this good enough? and will i keep the weight off forever as long as i dont fall into my old ways?

also how do i keep my metabalism up all day and make sure i keep burning calories?

Any tips on losing weight would be welcomed.

Update:

im also drinking a lot of water and cut out soda

    This worked for me ....

    Everytime I would eat I'd drink a full class of water .. It made me feel full and I wouldn't eat as much and after that if I got hungry

    I would eat apples ...

    Buy a jump rope

    Your metabolism runs even if you do nothing (you breathe and your hair grows, right?), but when you do stuff it simply burns more. If you gain or lose weight entirely depends on if you burn more or fewer calories than you eat.
