    He had to

    Members of the royal court financed his plays and back then not pleasing the monarchy was a very bad idea

    @Cymru, the question wasn't WHY he did so but HOW he did so. That is, what elements of his plays did he include in order to please the monarchy.

    Just about any "Collected Works of Shakespeare" will contain introductory essays about Shakespeare and his times and will give you some answers to your question. The one edited by Bevington is very good. Your library probably has that book and a few others.
