one strange duck, very insecure and trying hard to live in what was a big shadow her mother cast. I can't even imagine trying to live as the daughter of the legendary icon her mother was, still is. She's been under a microscope all her life. And she's a talented entertainer in her own right but her life has been like trying to dance on a running chainsaw.
Same as Carrie Fisher, daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, she is also another strange duck, and a helluva talented writer.
edit: No offense taken, but you are not quite correct I think. Still, to this day, the sentence describing them both would be, actress, performer, and daughter of .... That's usually an introductory sentence in their biographies, no matter where you read. Both performers grew up and started in the business in their parent's shadow. They did make their own careers but both these women still deal with their past. Carrie's recent one-woman show and her book, "Wishful Drinking" was all about growing up as the child of big stars, and Liza still won't talk about her mother. They have made their own lives but the shadow is still there, don't kid yourself, it never left them, those stars cast a very very long shadow.
