Download the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant.

It will tell you what programs are incompatible and that will need to be reinstalled.

I don't know how Norton works so you'll have to help me. Do you have to use a product key to install Norton? If Windows says you need to reinstall Nortion then you'll need that product key again. I imagine that your subscription is tied to the product key.

You can find your product key using the directions below. Make sure you copy it down and keep it in a safe place.

If ProtectSmart has to be reinstalled you can download it again from the link below.

It says it's for Windows 7, Vista, and XP but it will work with Windows 8.

The Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant it will automatically detect which version of Windows, 32-bit or 64-bit, that is currently installed and will download the same version of Windows 8.

So if you have Windows 7 64-bit installed it will download the 64-bit version of 8.

Well, I got mine from here:

I prefer it over Windows 7 because of the really slick Start screen from 8... but protection should follow, and you will know how to look for it as soon as you got the OS installed... You may use your existing Norton or use another one that runs better with Win 8.
