No, not really. It's an entertainment district, which specializes in nightlife, so there are a number of bars and clubs there. So not bad, but in the evenings and at night you get a lot of people who are heading to or have just left a bar, for whatever reason. Really, not much worse than a strip mall with a few bars in it.
One thing to keep in mind: Some of the streets become restricted access, 21 and up only weekend nights, if I recall. If you are under 21 going to an all ages show, approach it from Broadway and you'll be fine.
Do keep your wits about you when parking - don't leave things out to tempt thieves. If they see a cell phone charger, they might decide a smash and grab might be worth it. Even if you take the cell phone with you and they get nothing, you still have a broken window.
Still, police presence is usually pretty good around there. You shouldn't have much to worry about. And the Beaumont's fine - got to see Flogging Molly and TMBG there (not the same night of course), and a few other shows that are a little fuzzy right now.
