In 2010, Stockton had an unemployment rate of 18.4%, among the worst in the nation for large cities. In 2011, the labor market worsened and unemployment rose to 20.2%, well more than double the national average of 8.9% and the highest of any of the cities on this list. Violent crime rates also have worsened, increasing from 13.8 crimes per 1,000 people in 2010. Though Stockton has long had high crime rates, the 58 murders recorded in Stockton last year were an all-time record for the city. This month, to curb the increasing crime rates in the city, police decided to prioritize violent crime and to no longer respond to property crimes in the city unless certain criminal conditions were met.

    Violent crimes per 1,000: 14.1

    > Population: 295,136

    > 2011 murders: 58

    > Median income: $45,606

    > Unemployment rate: 20.2%

Not simply the illegals -- it can be all of the social applications (reminiscent of a lot of homeless, druggies, youngster molesters) and greed within the state as good. Don't maintain California -- the taxes and fee of living is too excessive but not in a position to get a job transfer. It can be no longer fair to everybody different people who've carried out everything correct. You dont like having to bail out this gawd forsaken state contact California's reps and complain.

There is no credible source saying that illegal immigration had anything to do with the bankruptcy in Stockton. Most knowledgeable people recognize that the difficulties were caused by the housing and credit crash, coupled with financial obligations to city workers made in the 1990s.

"Stockton’s fortunes linked to mexican foreclosure bust caused by subprime loans to illegal mexicans and the huge costs of paying for medical and other social services to unisured mexicans and their anchor babies

SAN FRANCISCO, July 4 (Reuters) – The man in charge of the biggest U.S. city ever to file for bankruptcy is clear about the root of the crisis. since the article came from the Hufffington post which thinks the words illegal alien are racist, and so the article blames most the problem on legal Americans like police officers but at the end of the article it admits it was the housing bust , the housing bust caused by giving home loans to Mexicans with ten fake IDs who skipped out on their home loans , illegal aliens who collectively drove the US into a huge recession.

Deis, who signed Stockton’s bankruptcy filing last Thursday,Before the turn of the millennium, things looked very different in California."

"Welfare use by immigrants is higher still. In 2008–09, the fraction of households using some form of welfare was 82 percent for households headed by an illegal immigrant and 61 percent for households headed by a legal immigrant.

Higher rates of Hispanic poverty drive this disparity in welfare consumption. Hispanics made up nearly 60 percent of California’s poor in 2010, despite being less than 38 percent of the population. Nearly one-quarter of all Hispanics in California are poor, compared with a little over one-tenth of non-Hispanics. Nationally, the poverty rate of Hispanic adults drops from 25.5 percent in the first generation—the immigrant generation, that is—to 17 percent in the second but rises to 19 percent in the third, according to a Center for Immigration Studies analysis. (The poverty rate for white adults is 9 percent.) That frustrating third-generation economic stall repeats the pattern in high school graduation and college completion rates as well."

Its because the liberal actors and billionaire Hollywood directors/producers aren't paying enough taxes. Does Steven Spielberg really need 130 million a year to live? he could give the state of California 129 million every year and still live just fine. Its time to practice what they preach.

Wrong, the Mayor and city council and the city manager, have mismanaged the city's finances for quite a while.

Illegal aliens have nothing to do with the problem, whatsoever.

Somebody has to find a different scapegoat, this one just won't fly.
