Does it hurt a car if you manually shut a automatic door?
my mom has a 2012 Lincoln MKX and it has a door I guess you could call it and it goes up if you push the button in the car, on the back of the car or on the key does it hurt it if you close it manually?

Hi Jacob Lawson,
The power liftgate or "door" in the MKX can be operated manually or by using the instrument panel control button, transmitter button, outside liftgate control button, or the control button in the rear cargo area. While you can use the manual or power functions of this door without causing any harm to the vehicle, care should be used not to manually force the liftgate to travel faster than the power system will permit. This will activate the obstacle detection feature. You can read more about the features of the Lincoln MKX liftgate by downloading a copy of the Owner's Manual here: https://owner.lincoln.com/servlet/ContentServer?pa...
Have a great day!

No, not at all. That's why they don't put a warning sticker telling you not to use the door the way you would with every other car door in existence.

Nothing a little Prozac can't fix. Pop a few in the gas tank and it'll be all better. Just make sure it's not Viagra
