What would happen if everything became computerized?

If everything was to become computerized, such as bills, schoolwork, mail, birthday cards, and etc... Comparing cutting down trees versus using coal to power our electronics, which is greener for Earth? I've been thinking about that question for a while... Thanks for answering!

Pretty much everything is done on computers already, and not much difference is needed with the current computers to do everything electronically. Plus, electronics do use little energy. Much, much, less than what it takes to cut down a tree and mill it into paper.

We'd all be a "chip" off the old block:)

A lot of us would lose the ability to think - actually that may be true already as any question that comes up is googled rather than thought about.

Almost everything IS computerized. So, look around. What has happened?

    Best wishes and good luck.
