A block of mass 2.50 kg is pushed 2.40 m along a frictionless horizontal table by a constant 18.0 N force directed 25.0° below the horizontal.

(a) Determine the work done by the applied force.

(b) Determine the work done by the normal force exerted by the table.

(c) Determine the work done by the force of gravity.

(d) Determine the work done by the net force on the block.

The horizontal component of the applied fore F= 18 * cos 25= 16.3N

a)

Work done by the applied force W= F * S= 16.3 * 2.4 = 39.12J

b) Ans=0 , Because the displacement of the block along the normal force of the table is zero , ( as the block displaced horizontally, the normal force of the table is vertical)

c) Ans =0 , similar as (b)

d) Weight of the block is nutralised by the normal force of the table.. There is no other force except the horizontal component of the applied force .. So the ans is the same as (a)
