Can you leave a cork in whiskey?

The cork broke when opening the bottle, should I try and remove the floating remainder?

You can leave a cork in whiskey. I can't even think of why you ask or how it can be a bad thing.

You can if you want. The cork shouldn't hurt the taste of it, but its kind of gross to be sipping on a cocktail and drinking cork. It's not hard to get out, either. I have an oil funnel I use for straining brandies I make, which makes it easier.

Just get a second glass bottle and some coffee filters and aforementioned funnel. Pour through the coffee filter into the funnel into the extra bottle and back. Takes less than 10 minutes and poof! Corkless whiskey. Hope that helps.

    It won't hurt the whisky.
